Schools Resources

On this page you can find our secondary schools resource booklet: CreateWorks Secondary Schools Resource Pack.pdf

This booklet is free to download and use. It is recommended for students age 12+.

It has been designed to be used alongside the audio dramas and contains questions and activities to engage students in both exploring the scientific concepts tackled by the dramas and how creative arts can be used to communicate science and engineering.

There is enough content provided to allow teachers to deliver successful one-off lessons or a series of lessons using this resource.

There are two suggested ways to utilise this resource:

  1. Listening to the audio dramas to supplement teaching in science subjects. You can find a list of the topics covered by each audio drama on pages 8 and 9 of the resource booklet in order to select what is most relevant to your current course topics. Questions to help your students analyse the information contained in the audio dramas are available on page 20 of the resource booklet.
  2. Using the audio dramas as a starting point to explore how story can be used to communicate science. After listening to one of the audio dramas as an example and using the analysis questions on page 20 to further explore the story, there are then a range of written, spoken, or performed activities provided on pages 21 and 22 that suggest creative responses to the audio dramas and prompts for the students to create their own dramas that communicate a scientific concept.

If you would like to access the scripts of any of the 14 audio dramas, they are available to download here: Createworks Audio Dramas - Schools Resource .zip
